2023 Chevy Silverado EV Comparison

2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV vs 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning

Overview

Pickup trucks have a lot to offer when it comes to capability, but they've hardly ever been anyone's favorite when it comes to efficiency. Fortunately, quite a few electric trucks are now available, including the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV and the Ford F-150 Lightning. While they both offer an electric solution to trucks' efficiency problems, only one can be the best fit for your needs.

Capability

Capability is the core of any pickup truck, including electric versions, and both of these trucks have an impressive towing capacity. In fact, they each have the same maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds when properly equipped. At the base level, however, the Silverado has the advantage with a standard towing capacity of 8,000 pounds, while the base-level F-150 can only tow 7,700 pounds.

Charging Capabilities

Charging speed is an important factor in any electric vehicle, and trucks are no exception. The F-150 has two options for its battery pack, and the larger will get you about 320 miles per charge. The Silverado, on the other hand, offers a 400-mile range. Additionally, the Silverado lets you enjoy fast charging up to 350 kW. The Lightning can only get to a charging level of 150 kW.

Power

Just because the engine is electric doesn't mean you can't get a lot of power out of these trucks. The F-150, for example, boasts a maximum horsepower of 580 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. The Silverado EV, on the other hand, offers an incredible 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. With numerous advantages, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV reigns supreme.
